Position Summary                                                                                         

We are looking for an Operations Resiliency Specialist to join our London Team. The role works across UK and Europe with the Operations Resiliency Director driving capabilities, processes, behaviours and systems, which allow CNA Hardy Operations to remain robust and resilient while continuing to carry out its objectives in the face of disruption, regardless of its source in an ever-changing operating environment.

Key Responsibilities                                                                             

Operational Resiliency and Business Continuity

  • Manages and delivers analysis of Business Continuity Management capability for assurance and awareness to meet expectations of external and internal legal and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates and coordinates with global Business Resilience activities to ensure alignment for UK & Europe – dependency mapping, systems reliance, people reliance and location reliance
  • Conducts annual Business Impact Analysis & Business Continuity Plan reviews with process owners to ensure that organisational changes are captured
  • Engages with internal stakeholders to maintain, enhance and embed governance structure for resilience within the organisation
  • Manages the compliance of organisational resiliency, regulatory and relevant policy requirements and support implementation activities
  • Delivers new controls and procedures in response to areas such as changes in regulation/legislation, feedback from the business, operational risk and technology changes
  • Undertakes a systematic review of all policies, procedures and checklists to ensure they are robust, scalable and meet the business requirements as it continues to evolve
  • Facilitates scenario testing activities (e.g. select the test scenario, create a test plan, facilitate briefing meetings, manage the exercise) in line with scenario testing requirements
  • Leads with the drafting of reporting and implementation of any recommendations
  • Works with wider business continuity plan owners to maintain comprehensive recovery plans for their specific functions across UK & Europe
  • Works closely to IT Infrastructure & Information Security Teams in order to support disaster recovery testing
  • Works closely to Risk Management Team to ensure proper control environment is in place for defined operational risks
  • Works closely to Global Physical Security Team to apply relevant security measures across UK & Europe
  • Maintains documentation, processes and evidence to support business continuity activities

 Skills, Knowledge & Experience                                                                            

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and the ability to work effectively with peers, management and subordinates
  • Strong project management, organising and planning skills to coordinate multiple sets of activities
  • Able to work on own initiative and be proactive
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated, hard working
  • Ability to identify and resolve / escalate complex problems with minimal guidance and oversight
  • Experience in projects and programmes relating to operational resilience, business continuity, IT continuity, crisis management, security, risk management
  • Experience of relevant International Standards for resilience, risk management, information security, service continuity and health & safety (ISO 27001, ISO22301, ITIL etc.)
  • Knowledge of key regulatory standards related to Operational Resilience
  • High level understanding of digital technologies (e.g. infrastructure, applications, mobile apps, mass notification etc.)
  • Certification to relevant industry bodies such as; BCI, DRI, CISSP, IRM would be desirable
